You waited for the plaza to clear. It never cleared. Somewhere in every travel album is the perfect composition with a stranger walking through it, a tour group flanking the cathedral, a jogger forever mid-stride behind the proposal. People are the hardest clutter to remove, because they bring luggage — a shadow on the pavement, a reflection in the shop glass, a slice of complicated background hidden behind them.
Describe who goes, the way you would point them out to a friend: by clothing, position, or exception ('everyone except my daughter'). The removal takes the person, their shadow, and their reflection as one package, then rebuilds what they were blocking — the railing continues, the cobblestones keep their pattern, the crowd texture heals over. Give the rebuilt ground a once-over before sharing; that is where removals live or die.
De-tourist the trip photos. Take the stranger out of the engagement shot. Trim a candid down to the people who belong in it. Objects go to the Object Remover; a person you want exchanged for someone else, rather than gone, goes to Replace Person.

Questions, answered
Can I keep one person and remove everybody else?
Yes — exception phrasing works: 'everyone except the woman in the yellow coat'. It is the fastest way to turn a crowded landmark shot into a solo portrait.
What happens if the person is partially behind my subject?
Overlaps are handled by rebuilding only the visible slice of the stranger and preserving your subject's edge. Inspect the boundary where they met — that seam deserves the closest look in the result.
Does removing a large foreground person leave a visible patch?
The bigger the person, the more scene must be invented behind them, so a dominant foreground figure is the hardest case. It often still works; just review the fill at full size, and expect the occasional second attempt.
Is it okay to remove strangers from photos I post?
Clearing incidental passersby from your own photos is standard practice — arguably a courtesy to them. The line to hold: do not use removals to misrepresent an event, and keep people in photos where their presence is the point.
