Pointillism rebuilds your image entirely from small dots of unmixed color. Up close it is a field of confetti; step back and the dots fuse into faces, skies, and light. It is the most patient-looking style in the catalog — every result looks like it took someone a month.
It makes conversation-piece wall art and striking album covers, and it flatters sunlit scenes where color vibrates: markets, harbors, picnics. Tip: this style needs size to breathe. Generate at high quality and view it large — at thumbnail scale the dots blur into ordinary texture and the whole point (so to speak) disappears.
Good to know
Why does my pointillism result look ordinary as a small preview?
The dot structure only reads at larger sizes. Open the full-resolution result or print it — the technique reveals itself with viewing distance, which is exactly how the original movement worked.
Do portraits survive being broken into dots?
Close-up portraits do; small faces in wide shots dissolve. Keep the subject large in the frame — a head-and-shoulders crop gives the dots enough area to describe the features. Results vary by photo.
